Trainer Card - Callista

*sigh* Well, here it is.
With much pushing and prodding from the day has come that I am auditioning for IPL.

Honestly, I am a little nervous about this (since I've never even considered being in an art contest type setting before...), but she seems to think I'd do fine. WE SHALL SEE *noenvy, WE SHALL SEE....

I must also give a shout out to for helping me figure out parts of the attack sets. Wai to go!

Callista Hyatte: Originally she hails from Mauville in the Hoenn region. There she spent most of her young life in the company of her best friend, Kat Appley (Kat's Trainer Card). When Callista was about thirteen, however, Kat moved on to what was thought to be bigger and better things.

As a young girl, Callista's looks were...less than favorable. Every summer she would go to Eterna City, to live with her Grandmother. She spent most of her time learning skills meant to turn her into a lady (her Grandmother was very old fashioned), but on occasion she would sneak away with Glee to find pokemon. It wasn't until returning home from Eterna during her 17th year did something amazing happen - the ugly duckling had become a swan.

With a new found confidence, she traveled with her pokemon companions to Hearthome with the goal of becoming master of beauty in the Super Contest Hall. There she has lived for the past five years, with her prized Milotic having nearly won the Master beauty competition on more than one occasion.

Now, after having been part of the Super Contest circuit for several years, Callista is once again looking for a change of pace. She had heard of a place where pokemon trainers of all sorts gather to battle each other - Challenger Island.



Callita's Pokemon Team:
MISSY (Espeon, female) -
Ability: Synchronize
Nature: Sassy
Move Set:

Missy originally belonged to Callista's Grandmother. In her older age, however, her Grandmother became less able to take care of Missy. She was eventually given to Callista, since Missy would only partially ignore her.
Missy is an unusually beautiful white Espeon that (unfortunately) knows that it is pretty. After about a year of battling, Callista finally figured out Missy's niche in the group. Though she does have a decently powerful psybeam attack, Missy does much better in double battles with her abilities to aid in making her team mates stronger.


GLEE (Meganium, male) -
Ability: Overgrow
Nature: Jolly
Move Set:

~ Solar Beam

Glee is the first pokemon Callista ever owned. As it is with most children, at the age of eleven her parents gave her a rather jovial little chikorita. Like a little lost lamb, Glee followed her everywhere and it didn't take long for them to become friends. Glee can always be seen with a large, doofy grin, brought on for no apparent reason other than he enjoys life to the fullest. Its evolution progression from chikorita to meganium was completed on the journey to Hearthome City.


MELODY (Milotic, female) -
Ability: Marvel Scale
Nature: Gentle
Move Set:
~ Hydro Pump
~ Refresh
~ Ice Beam
~ Twister

Melody is the prize jewel of Callista's collection and is the first pokemon she ever caught. She had heard of how feebas, one of the ugliest pokemon known, would become a milotic if its beauty was maxed out. Every summer she would sneak away to Mt. Coronet and attempt to catch the elusive fish. She would move, inch by inch, up and down the banks of the underground lake, searching. Eventually, as she neared the age of sixteen, she managed to catch one of her very own. She spent everyday the next year, meticulously grooming and caring for Melody. Though Melody's transformation from feebas to milotic was much quicker than Callista's own change, a special bond was formed between the two when Callista turned seventeen. Together they had journeyed from duckling to swan. Melody is exceptionally gentle, given for her size, and prefers to compete in beauty contests over pokemon battles. Make no mistake though, she has a lot of power boiling beneath the surface.


AMARANTHINE (Mismagius, female) -
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Impish
Move Set:
~ Shadow Ball
~ Payback
~ Thunderbolt
~ Psywave

Amaranthine is the most recent addition to Callista's team. She found that the balance of her team was a little off, so she agreed to trade her beautifly for a mismagius that knew thunderbolt. Mismagius has not yet been entered into many Super Contests, but it has seen its fair share of battles. Amaranthine can be a sneaky little bugger sometimes and will hide in dark rooms to surprise (or scare) people.


FLARE (Ninetales, male) -
Ability: Flash Fire
Nature: Docile
Move Set:
~ Nasty Plot
~ Flamethrower
~ Dig
~ Hyper Beam

Flare was the last pokemon Callista ever caught in the wild. She had nearly left the Hoenn region when she spotted a vulpix, warming itself in the afternoon sun. By this time she had already began formulating the plan to create an ultimate 'beautiful pokemon' team and she knew a ninetales would be perfect. Though very docile in nature (loving to take afternoon naps in the sun), Flare is Callista's powerhouse.


AZURE (Swellow, male) -
Ability: Guts
Nature: Rash
Move Set:
~ Focus Energy
~ Aerial Ace
~ Double Team
~ Steel Wing

Callista never intended on having a swellow on her team but on the morning she planned to leave for Hearthome City she awoke to find a teal and orange one right outside her window. It may have been the leftover sleep in her eyes, but she could have sworn it was surrounded by shimmering sparkles - as if it were asking to be caught. It proved to be a most difficult catch, since it repeatedly tried to escape, but Callista would not be deterred and victory was hers when the luxury ball came to a rest in the dewy morning grass.
